War on Syria: Media Resistance - Unifying efforts against terrorism

Forum of Media of Resistance in Face of War on Syria calls for unifying efforts against terrorism

Damascus, Dec 29, 2013 (SANA) - Forum of Media of Resistance in the Face of War on Syria called for unifying efforts in the face of the takfiri and international terrorism against the Resistance's forces in the Middle East region.

In its communique on Sunday, the forum also called for establishing a unified media front in the face of terrorism.

The communique said that the Zionist scheme, which is the main threat to the Arab and Islamic nations, lacks strength factors to sustain or expand without the cowardice of some governments.

The participants of the forum said that the Zionist project has hidden allies among the Arab and Islamic nations, adding that the takfiri terrorist project is the same as the Zionist one.

They considered that the current war, which is waged against all humanity and aims at distorting the true image of Islam, targets the strength elements of the Arab nation, particularly in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.

They called for condemning all sorts of organized terrorism perpetrated by the armed terrorist groups against civilians all across the Arab and Islamic region.

They noted that the telecommunication revolution has changed the views to wars and is now able to convert victories to defeats and vice versa through marketing and handling facts and ideas.

On the international conference on Syria "Geneva 2", the communique considered the conference as a result of the steadfastness of the Syrian people, army and leadership, adding that the conference is an appropriate opportunity to convey the reality of the victories of the Syrian army and to reveal the fakeness of the illusionary victories alleged to be achieved by the terrorist groups.

UN must prevent terrorism sponsors

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon's statement

Your Majesties, Prime Minister, Distinguished Heads of State and Government, Ladies and Gentlemen:

Why have you invited me to speak here? Because terrorism is a threat to all states, to all peoples, which can strike anytime, anywhere.

It is a direct attack on the core values the United Nations stands for: the rule of law; the protection of civilians; mutual respect between people of different faiths and cultures; and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Foreign backed terrorism: UN must prevent

Nov 12, 2013, Press TV

UN must prevent terrorism sponsors in Syria: Stone

Ken Stone, with the Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War, from Ontario, has joined Press TV’s Top Five program to further discuss the upcoming Geneva II Conference and the future of Syria’s war on foreign-sponsored terror.

What follows is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Mr. Stone this is not the first time that UN is appealing for funding and assistance and aid for the Syrian people but it seems that there is no lack of funds when it comes to supporting insurgents who are fighting the government of President Bashar al-Assad but these funds seem to disappear when it comes to the Syrian population. What do you make of that?

Stone: I agree with you 100%. The problem with Mr. Ban Ki-moon is that he cannot see the forest for the trees.

There was no refugee problem in Syria three years ago before the foreign-backed mercenary war was unleashed on that sovereign country by some Western and Arab countries.

There were no four million internally displaced people inside of Syria before their mercenary intervention began. What Mr. Ban Ki-moon has to do as the United Nations chief executive officer is to enforce the charter of the United Nations.

He has to approach those countries that are waging an illegal, covert military aggression against Syria; the countries are 11 core countries of the so-called Friends of Syria group.

He has to approach them and say you must cease and desist from your covert military action; you are violating the UN charter, you are violating the international law.

And then he has to turn as well to the 40 periphery countries in the Friends of Syria group and say to them, you have created illegal regimes of economic sanctions against Syria and these sanctions have not been approved by the United Nations Security Council, they are illegal and you must dismantle these regimes (of illegal sanctions).

Press TV: Well, Mr. Stone it was hoped that some of these things might be achieved in that Geneva II Conference on which many expectations were depending, however that conference seems like a thing of the past, now very unlikely to take place as many are pointing out, due to the stance of the so-called SNC (Syrian National Coalition).

So what about the people of Syria? What is going to happen considering it is just the arms that are finding their way into Syrian territory and in the hands of the foreign-backed insurgents but no food, no aid, no medicine is getting there.

Stone: Mr. Ban needs to prod both countries that are holding up Geneva II Conference by trying to set preconditions for the talks. The Geneva communiqué of 2012 made it very clear, very simple, a ceasefire and negotiations without preconditions but the countries that sponsor the mercenaries, certain countries in the West, including Canada unfortunately, are trying to set preconditions saying that Mr. Assad would have to go first.

Well, Mr. Ban has to approach these countries who are dragging their feet and allowing the mercenaries whom they support, to stop throwing a monkey wrench into the works.

They have to get down to their business and come to the Geneva II with all the countries in the region who are involved and settle the issue in a political rather than a military way.

Former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt is a fierce advocate for military intervention.

On July 1, 2009 he was elected President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe group in the European Parliament.

In  2011, he pleaded in the European Parliament in a demagogic way for a multi-state military intervention in Libya (“The weak position of the EU makes me sick”).

In 2013, he pleaded in the European Parliament  in a demagogic way for a military intervention in Syria ( “The time for peace talks is over, we need action now. If the UN doesn’t react, then NATO should”). At the same time he invited the so called Libyan opposition in the European Parliament and he promised them arms supplies.

Verhofstadt is a Board Member of the Brussels-based, Brussels-quoted Sofina holding (petroleum gas and oil platforms).

On September 11, 2012, the American diplomatic mission at Benghazi, in Libya, was attacked by a heavily armed group. Weapons they used during the attack included rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), hand grenades, AK-47 and FN F2000 NATO assault rifles, diesel canisters, mortars, and heavy machine guns and artillery mounted on gun trucks’.

The FN F2000 is a 5.56×45mm NATO bullpup assault rifle, designed by FN Herstal in Belgium and made its debut in March 2001 at the IDEX defence exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.

Latest News Syria: Belgium supports terrorism

Belgian minor who was fighting against the Syrian government arrested and released

A seventeen year old Antwerp Syria fighter who last week returned to Belgium, was arrested and brought before the juvenile court. After a conversation of half an hour, the Court decided that he could go home. He was allowed to go back to school.

That is a precedent for all other Syria fighters who returned to our country and are currently in jail.

The teenager fought three months actively on the side of Isis, the most violent terrorist movement in Syria, which also sent threatening emails to our country.

Experts fear that this precedent will have consequences. Adults who fight in Syria know very clearly where they stand. When they return they will be arrested and they come to court on suspicion of participation in a terrorist organization.

Minors going to fight in Syria are now encouraged.

Belgian jihad organizations are recruiting in a very intense way on the internet among Antwerp minors to fight in Syria.

Paris, (SANA)- Georges Malbrunot of Le Figaro newspaper revealed how the US, Saudi Arabia and Jordan have been supplying tons of weapons to the armed terrorist groups operating inside Syria, according to the Iranian Press TV.

The French reporter has provided details on how the US Central Intelligence Agency CIA is leading “massive arms deliveries” to the gunmen in Syria in coordination with Saudi Arabia and Jordan, in completion of his investigative reports proving the three countries’ involvement in supporting the terrorists fighting in the country.

The (CIA), and Saudi Arabia and Jordan have supplied about 600 tons of weapons in 2013 alone to the armed groups in Syria.

“The Americans hold the key to these arms deliveries. Without them, they couldn’t happen. CIA agents lead convoys of arms deliveries joined by the Free Syrian Army and Jordanian secret services,” Malbrunot said.

“The Saudis work behind the scene in charge of financing and arranging arms deliveries from eastern Europe to Jordan,” he added.

Malbrunot learned from sources that the weapons convoys are escorted by “unmanned aircraft guided from a CIA-led command center in Jordan”, according to the Press TV report released Saturday.

Last month, Malbrunot recounted the details of this operation in Le Figaro quoting a terrorist he met as saying that there is a direct contact between the gunmen and CIA officials in coordination with Saudi Arabia and a number of countries of the so-called “Friends of Syria”.

According to terrorist Anwar, convoys of cars carrying CIA and Jordanian intelligence agents and others fully loaded with weapons set off from Jordanian borders in the evening and head into the Syrian territories.

Once 3 km inside Syria, the American and Jordanian agents go back, while the convoy goes on towards Damascus Countryside at night on a Syrian army checkpoint- free road with U.S. surveillance drones flying over to warn against the presence of the Syrian army.

Malbrunot revealed in his report that 15 tons of weapons reach the terrorists operating in Damascus suburbs each week, while other convoys head for Daraa.

The weapons convoys include Kalashnikovs, rocket launchers, rifles and anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns, mostly funded by Saudi Arabia and sent onboard Saudi aircrafts to secret military airports in southern Jordan.
